The Lotus Swirl is a beautiful variation of the Taiwan swirl technique. In this design, the original Taiwan pulls create the structure, and then circular perimeter movements bend those lines into soft lotus-petal shapes across the bar.
In this video, I demonstrate how to create the Lotus Swirl using a simple sequence of Taiwan pulls followed by controlled circular motion around the outside of the mold.
What You’ll Learn:
- How the Lotus Swirl builds on the classic Taiwan swirl technique
- The order of moves needed to form the lotus-style petal pattern
- How to circle the perimeter of the mold without over-mixing the design
- Why the initial Taiwan pulls create the “bones” of the swirl pattern
- Tips for keeping the design crisp while dragging the skewer around the edges
