Turmeric is one of the most versatile natural soap colorants. It can produce a surprising range of colors in cold process soap depending on how much you use.
In this video, I run a simple color test using a turmeric slurry and gradually increase the amount of turmeric in each cavity of the mold. The result is a beautiful progression of shades from soft yellow to golden tones, oranges, and even deeper reddish-brown colors.
I also add a small amount of indigo to one portion of the batch to demonstrate how turmeric can combine with blue colorants to create natural greens.
